An Invitation
To whom it may concern,
most formal greetings. To those of you with whom for whatever reason I have elected to remain on speaking terms, you are cordially invited to an evening of exorbitant revelry that you are entirely likely to enjoy.
To whom it does not concern,
if you should find yourselves tempted to wander up the drive to Codshead Manor between seven and eleven o'clock, I can assure you the real invitees will have already more than covered in their conversation the social ineptitude, intellectual inferiority, homeliness, or general undesirability fomenting your failure to merit my hospitality.
I ingenuously look forward to seeing some of you.
Punctiliously yours,
